As per Notification No. EDN(TE)A(1)7/2019, issued on March 6, 2019, the Government Polytechnic Jandaur commenced its semester classes in AY 2024-25 at village - Jandaur, Tehsil - Jaswan, Distt.-Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. This institute is located in the village of Jandaur near the Sansarpur Industrial Area, and the famous Mata Chintpurni temple is 22 km from this institute.
The campus is spread over an area of approximately 4 acres. The Pong Dam, a reservoir or lake, is a famous wildlife sanctuary and one of the 25 international wetland sites at a distance of 10 km from the institute.
The Polytechnic runs three-year diploma courses in Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering with an intake of 40 students each, which are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi.
This institute is affiliated to the H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala, which conducts semester examinations, the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT), and the Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) for admission in polytechnics.
